Wendy met Mama Maggie in 2022. It was only a brief meeting but had a deep impact on her. Mama Maggie was deeply affected herself back in the 1980s when she first ventured into the garbage slums of Cairo. It changed her so much that she committed her life, her resources, her everything to serving these people. The work of Stephen's Children is the outworking of her heart to care for the poor and needy in Cairo's garbage areas and beyond.
